DualFix 5Z provide superb safety and comfort thanks to six different recline positions. Approved according to the newer standard R129 (i-Size) and can be used from about 3 months up to around 4 years (max. 18 kg). The seat is installed with the Isofix base Vario 5Z which is sold separately. DualFix 5Z is rotatable 360 degrees and can be used rear or forward facing. The seat has deep padded side wings with SICT Inside, which is Britax’s own built-in protection against side collisions. The base Vario 5Z has the patented Pivot Link system to absorb the huge forces in a collision and provide better safety. Headrest is easily adjusted with one hand and the harness will follow to always be at correct height. DualFix 5Z can be used rear or forward facing with harness. 61-105 cm rear facing and 76-105 cm forward facing. Rear facing is 500% safer compared to forward facing. We strongly recommend staying rear facing until at least age four, preferably much longer. In today’s modern cars vehicle seats often recline more than normal and rear facing children can then sit too upright with head falling forward. Unfortunately a common problem with Isofix. The base Vario 5Z therefore has a total of 6 different positions for recline which means a good sleeping position is possible in all cars. The adjustable anti-rebound bar provide more leg space when needed and also make installation firmer. The base is rotatable 360 degrees and provide easy entry by turning seat 90 degrees towards the door. Installation with Isofix is done in seconds and the base Vario 5Z has the upgraded Isofix connectors. These are now are now extended separately for each side which makes installation easier. The base has indicators showing when Isofix is attached with support leg in correct position. If support leg does not rest hard enough against floor of the car a beeping noise will sound. Textile contains no chemicals, is easily removed and machine washed at 30 degrees.
